Green Walls

03 October 2020

The photographs in this print capture the plantlife growing in the suburban walls near our studio in St Leonards-on-Sea. Thanks to the free-draining conditions in the walls and the mild coastal climate you can observe an unusual range of flora whose origins range from Cretan mountains to the coastal cliffs of California.

The forefathers of these plants were most certainly short-lived annual summer bedding plants from garden centres, now they grow wild in our walls.
